THE MANY FACES OF RICHIE BRASIL : A Solo Art Exhibition

THE MANY FACES OF RICHIE BRASIL : A Solo Art Exhibition

I found myself searching Facebook events on a Saturday morning. I stumbled upon key words like "solo art exhibition", " Sarasota."  Well, that's fantastic.

I had the opportunity to attend a local art event steps away from my home. After moving from University Parkway on the Bradenton / Sarasota busy county line, and away from its unforgiving traffic, I relocated to the Gillespie Park area. Just when I was going to decide to stay home, I reminded myself "this is why you migrated to Historical Downtown Sarasota." It was an opportunity to embrace the community and indulge in the artistic culture; to rub elbows with humans that manifest within their divine right to be unique and unapologetically creative.

As I approached SOLID, I couldn't help but to admire the esthetics. The store was flooded with supporters scattered within and trickled their way out to the store front. We made our way inside and was drawn in by the versatility of the artists work ranging from abstract, graffiti and photo realism. As I stood observing detail and color, I was admiring the message behind the art. The artist, Richie Brasil approached and greeted me. I briefly talked about what inspired his work and his background before my departure. I made sure to pick up a limited edition T-shirt to add to my closet. I encourage you to support your locals and explore new places within your community.

There is a great chance you are discovering a gem.
