The hit streaming series, Euphoria has confirmed a Season 2 and it has also blown our minds with its mastered cinematography, music, makeup, costumes and even the characters. It’s not a perfect story, but it’s honest and it encourages important conversations, circled around substance abuse, trauma, insecurities, and life struggles. With a story line surrounding high schoolers dealing with dysfunction and being throttled by the new age of growing pains.

Euphoria has showed us how some individuals interpret disappointment and the way we experience things in our everyday lives, even the political, social, and economic affects. The story is thought provoking but even difficult at times to watch. It is one of the most perplex teen shows out right now or that I’ve seen thus far. Granted, I come from the era of Skins, Degrassi, and the movie Thirteen.

Anyway the gag is my sister text’s me the other day to say, she can no longer stream HBO GO. Immediately, going into fight and flight mode. “ How will I watch season two of Euphoria?” ( No judgement, I’m sure you’re using someones Netflix account).

Also we experienced a Solar Eclipse on December 26, 2019 which means that many of us are also experiencing rapid change either from internal or external circumstances. “We are being forced to face change in a way that might be uncomfortable but that will ultimately lead to maturity.”

So these many truths prompted me to create a Horoscope based on the characters from the series and what could be foreseen to come, from basic observations of personal traits, characteristics and story line. Perhaps this all can help us be more contentious on how we cope with unfavorable circumstances.

Hopefully I’ll be able to stream it for the sake of seeing season two, as they continue to grow and navigate through the struggles of life.

So just for the fun of it, I had a Euphoria focus group with my favorite mystical friends. So, here is a collaborative effort between Chris, Gabby and myself as well as referenced Daily Horoscope App characteristics and compatibility definitions. As we sat and watched Euphoria Series together, here is what Horoscopes we came up with based on the characters.

Capricorn (12/22 to 1/19)

Alias: The Seagoat
Euphoria Character: Ashtray

“This sign is sincere and down to earth and their relationships are equally low-key and comfortable. Capricorns love to learn all aspects of whatever business they are in- whether they work for someone else or they are on their own. They frequently start at the bottom of the ladder and work their way up, so they can learn every nuance of their profession. Capricorns are very resourceful, detail - and deadline-oriented, and they tend to manage their finances very well. These traits lead them to be quite successful both financially and in terms of their professional reputations. “

Ashtray is the epitome of a straight shooter, who happens to be incredibly informed business man. With “street doctor expertise” and also a keen knowledge on Bitcoin. He supports his brother Fezco and is loyal through and through. He doesn’t have time for serious friendships because his focus is on building this family empire.

Aquarius (1/20 to 2/18)

Alias: The Water Carrier
Euphoria Character: Jules Vaughn

“Above all things, this sign seeks the truth. Aquarians are tolerant to every point of view, and can see both sides of an argument. They are independent and from time to time it is their nature to seek out alone time. On the other hand, Aquarians can be true extroverts. Their great desire to help humanity enables them to make friends very easily. With Aquarian’s own parents, the bond could be extremely strong or not, depending on the level of understanding between them. Having a sensitive and attuned personality, Aquarians often fear of being vulnerable, and so it may take a very long time for them to open up and allow a relationship to develop. Jules happens to be the most even tempered but sensually complex character on the show. Her desire to live “level up” in all aspects of her identity and sexuality, has her dabbling in the “hook-up” culture. And yet, her desire is to find true love. With Jules also being the new girl in town, it wasn’t an easy transition at first - but then she met Rue. Her friendship with Rue invited some codependency, simply because both characters have lost or detached relationships with a parent. Their similarities allowed this parallel to fill some voids, to a degree. Deep down Jules felt a need to be there for Rue because they connected and her characteristics exude to be a healer by nature. Bringing Rue under her wing for companionship, I also believe she is completely aware that a friendship is as far as it can go.

Pisces (2/19 to 3/20)

Alias: The Fishes
Euphoria Character: Kat Hernandez

“A keen imagination is the hallmark of this mystical sign, and the ability to dream and to create makes this person someone who would do well in a career that does not have traditional boundaries. On the one hand, they can be kind, compassionate, sensitive, and very understanding. But at the same time, Pisces people like to keep their true emotions under wraps, placing great focus on their inner journey. Pisceans are very easy-going, and they would rather wait for their problems to sort themselves out than pushing to actively solve them prematurely.”

Kat made the decision to swim through the elements of life and push her way against the current. The more timid member of her group of girlfriends she is also an incredibly talented writer, social internet sensation. Who finally decided to be more outward in her self-expression and overcome her insecurities of being a curvy girl. She falls for Ethan who she later on cuts off due to a simple misunderstanding. Instead of Kat confronting her concerns she acted as though it never happened ( hello to the ghosting culture) A true Piscean, to cover up her feelings through her new bad girl dominatrix style and aloof energy. Is this “moment of liberation” leading her to take the narrative of her “new” life or is this just her way of keeping her true self hidden?

Aries (3/21 to 4/19)

Alias: The Ram
Euphoria Character: Cal Jacobs

'“A natural-born leader, the fearless Ram is able to get things going in an instant and is willing to try anything, although this sign sometimes takes on more than can be accomplished. They are also a very charismatic sign, with the ability to easily attract others with their personal magnetism. They are frequently called up to resolve family problems because they have a knack for leadership and for getting everyone going in the same direction. As parents, they are protective but they can also be strict disciplinarians. Whether male or female, Aries does not take no for an answer when it comes to romance. When they meet an attractive potential partner, Aries doesn't play games. They are straight shooters and won't play hard to get. Aries people tend to be aggressive at times, though.”

Cal’s hyper perfectionist attitude towards everything in his life shows his larger then life perception of himself. The way his town sees it, he is a “perfect success” and the pillar of his family. He is a extremely hard on his kids, especially Nate. His parenting style is quite rigid and militant. Despite how others may interpret him below the surface he’s flailing, as his mistakes come to light. Which we see towards the end of season one, Cal’s disconnection with his son Nate finally blows up. Since as much of his own confusion of this sexual identity is the root of his son’s anger.

Taurus (4/20 to 5/20)

Alias: The Bull
Euphoria Character: Lexie Howard

“The Taurean's kind heart, stable temperament, and constant devotion will always make their relationships very fruitful. Steady and sturdy, the Bull is often the one member of the family that everyone turns to when they need support or assistance. The big strong bull can be shy and withdrawn when it comes to romance. Despite the appearance of bravado and self-confidence, Taurus people can be somewhat insecure when it comes to love. They are most drawn to outgoing people who make their feelings obvious.”

Lexie is literally the sweetest friend anyone could have. She is rational, reliable, caring and stable. At times, that can be so boring, considering the type of environment these teens journey through. I have to say that Lexie, is the most responsible out of her friends and even her sister. She is exceptionally loyal to Rue even though their friendship has been tested since they were young kids. She is even there for Rue when gets out of rehab and even after jumping right into a “situation(ship)” with Jules. Lexie is the epitome of a ride or die and quite frankly, I think she may be hinting feelings for Rue. Her very shy demeanor and “laid back” attitude, makes for a great friendship and but also a dependable partner.

Gemini (4/20 to 5/20)

Alias: The Twins
Euphoria Character: Cassie Howard

“Quick-witted and smart, the Twins quickly become the center of attention in any gathering. At the same time, they tend to be not the most emotionally stable sign and can be very moody and change their opinions rapidly. As a sibling, there is quite often a lot of rivalry because Gemini is an achiever and often outshines and outwits brothers and sisters who aren't as fast-thinking or ambitious.”

Cassie, effortlessly outshines her sister Lexie, sadly to say. But what’s even more sad is how she’s been sexually exploited throughout the course of season one not only by her peers, but also by some disappointing perverted family members. From the beginning she was symbolized as beautiful, but also provocative. Deep down Cassie was shy and sweet, but she is also struggling on how to navigate through toxic relationships. While acknowledging the pain she has suffered through the hands of narcissistic men she’s engaged with. Her childhood traumas of abandonment by her father, explain why. There is a moment we see where she falls in love with McKay and she feels like she’s found someone who could actually want her, just her. But unfortunately, through his own struggles that he’s working through, timing seems to be wrong for the both of them and she can’t get what she truly wants.

Cancer (6/21 to 7/22)

Alias: The Crab
Euphoria Character: Ethan

“The Moonchild loves deeply and forever. Sensitive and sweet, this is someone who usually remembers every birthday, every anniversary, and every special occasion of any kind. Cancer is loyal, loving and sensitive to the needs of a significant other, but can be quite shy when it comes to public displays of affection. It may take a while for the Cancer to decide to marry, but once it happens it is usually for life.”

Ethan is a true ‘sweet guy’ he always remained consistent and honest. But he is also very sensitive and has Kat completely on his radar. I’m sure most of us were cheering him on and hoping he would win her heart back over, despite that simple misunderstanding at the carnival. Kat’s drastic transformation into “a woman of questionable morals” still landed her the ‘boy next door’ down to earth guy. He is for sure a “people pleaser” - if you know what I mean.

Fun Fact: Austin Abrams was raised in Sarasota, FL. I’m sure most of you did not know that so figured I’d share some knowledge.

Leo (8/23 to 8/22)

Alias: The Lion
Euphoria Character: Maddy Perez

“Leos love to be the center of attention, and they often are because they are so enthusiastic, courageous, loyal, and generous.The Lion's considerable talents help them to succeed in nearly any endeavor they set their minds to. . If a Leo is in love, there is no doubt about it because Leos more often than not wear their heart on their sleeve. And when you are loved by a Leo, you can rest assured that this regal beast will always be there to defend your honor and trumpet your achievements. Anyone who competes with a Leo in the workplace had better get out of the way because Leos are very competitive and they play to win. Very driven and very smart, Leo is always on the lookout for opportunities to get ahead.

Maddy Perez is no doubt a girl who embodies confidence. She knew she had something special, even at a very young age. The most ambitious and confident one out of her friends she is some what the leader of the pack. When she enters the room, her presence is known. Maddy’s devotion to Nate shows her loyalty, despite the dysfunctional dynamic. With their constant antics and eye- for an - eye retaliations, left them in an unsteady relationship that was often so, split up and estranged. Through it all Maddy devoted to Nate, understood there’s many ways to view things and despite there constant outbursts she will defend his honor, even when he’s dishonorable. Although deep down, she knows she deserves better. She’s just unsure what healthy love looks like.

Virgo (8/23 to 9/22)

Alias: The Virgin
Euphoria Character: Chris McKay

“ Virgos are therefore delicate and sensitive, yet, at the same time, they can be critical and picky. Virgos may appear cold as there is a tendency to hide emotions and suppress natural kindness, although deep down they are warm and loving. Virgos always pick a logical and practical approach to all aspects of life which contributes to many of them being quite successful and independent. Although Virgos may appear cold they feel deeply and are in fact very reliable in all of their relationships. They will be glad to lend you a helpful hand if you get past the mask. This makes Virgo a very desirable friend and mate. Modest and understated, Virgo people have to take care to show those they love how they feel. These people don't like to make a scene, and so they are often quiet and even withdrawn when it comes to showing emotions. Still, their steadfast loyalty and their consistent attention are appreciated by those who love them.”

McKay was shy by nature but embodied a sense of confidence playing on the football team and also dating Cassie. He has this constant need for perfection, in addition to showing this strong demeanor in the relationship with his father. Who has pushed him incredible hard as a child, into young adulthood to be a success by any means and also get drafted into the league. His relationship with Cassie lacked honesty and communication, it didn’t come easy for McKay to express himself. His over consumption for perfection doesn’t allow him to enjoy his journey. He’s a freshman in College, take it easy.

Libra (9/23 to 10/22)

Alias: The Scales
Euphoria Character: Tyler

“They know how to appreciate the various pleasures of life, and they are naturally kind. Because they are even-tempered, they can be very social and diplomatic, and they are one of the most empathetic of the signs. In their everlasting search for balance, they can appear to be indecisive. The truth is that Libras loathe the conflicts in life and by pleasing everybody they try to achieve peace and harmony.”

Tyler happened to catch the lowest payout of any bargain since getting entangled with Maddy. Knowing very little about this character, but enough to know that he managed to put his well-being in jeopardy all in one night due to his poor decision making. His judgement to hookup with Maddy costed him his freedom. While Nate attempts to cover his tracks after assaulting Maddy, Tyler out of “desire” to keep the peace ( or in better words no longer wanting get his butt whipped by Nate) turns himself in for the false charges against him. A true Libra to loathe the conflicts in life and play “mediator” to keep the peace.

Scorpio (10/23 to 11/21)

Alias: The Scorpion
Euphoria Character: Nate Jacobs

“Scorpio is one of the most profound and outwardly impressive signs of the zodiac, with a very intense emotional energy that makes them stand out among peers. Their personalities are truly magnetic, yet they can be volatile and unpredictable at times, like a volcano - but that's only because they experience deep passion. Like their namesake the Scorpion, Scorpios have sharp powers of self-defense, and when they feel cornered they will lash out. Sometimes they get carried away with their overwhelming feelings.”

Nate Jacobs is the most intensive character on the show with his outbursts and frustrations towards his family dynamics, triggered childhood traumas, and cognitive dissonance. With major challenges accepting his sexuality. Nate’s insecurities lead him to carry out destructive plans and behaviors that can jeopardize the integrity of any individual that gets in his way. With Nate feeling very uneasy about the many painful experiences he has encountered, he shows that not only will he get carried away with his feelings, he’ll carry out his erratic ideas to make any problems go away.

Sagittarius (11/22 to 12/21)

Alias: The Archer
Euphoria Character: Rue Bennett

“This sign is all about expanding new dimensions of thought. They are perfectionists, but, just like their mascot the Centaur, who aims his arrow into the emptiness, Sagittarians may not always be sure what they are shooting at. Their mission to find perfection in everything could potentially cause this sign some disappointment, so they need to learn to be more carefree and not judge themselves so critically. Sagittarius's positive attitude and natural curiosity help to keep them going, and they rarely give up. Sagittarius are always surrounded by family and friends - people of this sign love to laugh and enjoy deep conversations. Friends are almost always like family to the Archer. They maintain long relationships that often last forever and date back to childhood days. ”

Although we are completely aware that Rue was born two days after 9/11. Which means her character is a Virgo. The only trait that would satisfy that claim is that “Virgo people are often very hard to read.” The only reason we ever knew what Rue was thinking or even feeling was because she was narrating. If not I believe we would be in the dark trying to the understand the many layers of her character, outside of her addiction. That doesn't mean “she doesn’t have great wells of love to draw from” - but Jules was often left wondering how she truly felt towards her. So now that I have proven my point let’s just say her character truly exudes Sagittarius. Especially because her mission to find euphoria in Jules, shows her ways for suppressing the affects of life. More so because she hasn’t fully excepted the lost of her father and she never really got much out of rehab.
